Grid. Column /Row Span only works if the parent of the element is a Grid. It sounds like the Labels' parent is a StackPanel. I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but to get one of the Labels to " span " wider than the other Labels, you would need to put a Grid with n columns inside the StackPanel and then put the Labels in that.
